Westminster

Westminster Abbey is an architectural masterpiece of the 13th to 16th centuries and one of the most important Gothic buildings in the United Kingdom. This impressive London church houses beautiful paintings, textiles and sculptures. Its Library also houses an important collection of printed books, manuscripts and archives belonging to the Dean and Chapter of Westminster.
Westminster Abbey has been the setting for every coronation since 1066 and for many other royal ceremonies. Between 1503 and 1519 Henry VII built the outstanding new Lady Chapel that has often been called ‘one of the most perfect buildings ever erected in England’.
