Millenium Bridge & St. Paul's Cathedral
Millenium Bridge & St. Paul's Cathedral

London Millennium Bridge is a pedestrian suspension bridge that crosses the River Thames in London, England. It’s a famous attraction of the city and is located near other important sites such as Tate Modern and Globe Theatre. The Millennium Bridge has beautiful views of Saint Paul's Cathedral south façade.

The construction of the London Millennium Bridge began in 1998 and cost £18.2 m. The bridge was opened to the public on 10th June 2000 but two days later there were some unexpected vibrations and the bridge had to be closed. After this episode Londoners nicknamed the bridge the ‘Wobbly Bridge’. Nowadays the London Millennium Bridge is a very popular site of London and its structure hasn’t suffered any ‘wobbles’ since its reopening in 2002.
